PABASKETBALL ALANG SA KALINAW OPENS. General Santos City Mayor Pedro B. Acharon, Jr. tosses the ball signalling the ceremonial opening of the PaBaskeball Alang sa Kalinaw Basketball Tourney 2008, a yearly project of his office and administered by the Sports Development Division for the different peace-keeping forces of the city. The first game during the November 24th opening at the Oval Covered Court was between the MNLF and the Regional Mobile Group, the champion and 1st runner during last year’s tournament. Other teams are the Philippine Army (Light Armor Battalion), the Bureau of Jail Management, Philippine Coast Guard, the GSC Police Office, the UMMAH-CINDAO and the LGU-Gensan. The casg prizes for the TOP 4 winners are P18,000, P13,000, P11,000, and P8,000. (GenSan CMO/avel manansala)
