City Officials cheer for Pacquiao

CHEERING FOR PACQUIAO. Representative Darlene Antonino-Custodio (3rd from left) and beside her, General Santos City Mayor Jun Acharon let loose their cheers while watching Manny Pacquiao pound Briton Ricky Hatton during their fight being broadcasted live at a giant screen inside the GenSan gym.   The two, together with more than 8,000 cheering fans were ecstatic over the Pacquiao victory.  The City Mayor’s Office and the Congressional Office of the First District of South Cotabato both sponsored the free pay-per-view showing of the fight.  Mayor Acharon promised a Hero’s Welcome and Motorcade for the new IBO Light Welterweight champion once he arrives next week.
