General Santos City is one of the famous cities in the Philippines as well as the whole world. It was known to be the city of champions. How and why? It carries along the name of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, the pound for pound king in Boxing World; Nonito Donaire, who’s starting to get its fame by his speed and hard punches; Ms. Shamcey Supsop, the beauty and brain lass who won the Miss Universe 2011-1ST Runner- Up; Gerald Anderson, PBB Teen Star which is now also one of the Best Actors in Film and Movie Industry; XB Gensan, who got the heart and attention of the judges and people through their terrifying yet soft and graceful moves during the Showtime Grand Finals; and now Zendee Rose Tenirefe, the viral diva who was discovered from the internet.
All of them brought fame in this city by their beauty, brain, amazing talents and extraordinary skills.
Of course, the policemen of this city wouldn’t want to be left behind in bringing the fame, pride, respect and honor to General Santos City and the generals.
Because of their love in work and dedication towards their mandated job, they were able to get the attention, applause and praise of the higher headquarters especially the inspecting team. Due to their series of accomplishments both administrative and operational matters, they were adjudged as the country’s Best City Police Office for the year 2010 and maintained it till 2011. Many said that an office that have a good leader as well as having persevered members will surely attain their long desired success, and that’s what the outgoing City Director, PSSUPT ATTY CEDRICK TRAIN embarked in each personnel’s mind.
On October 10, 2012 at exactly 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon, PSSUPT TRAIN finally leaves and transfers the challenge of leading the portals of GSCPO to PSSUPT FROILAN QUIDILLA.
This would be another greater and bigger responsibility for the new City Director. As he accepted the responsibility, his face was full of excitement, thrill and nervousness. He was very excited to meet new subordinates and show them what he is as a leader and what he could do for General Santos City and its people. But also, he was nervous if he could do better than what the former CD did in its office; hence, he is still optimistic that he could lead the policemen and policewomen of this city. He is still motivated to perform his functions in order to get the third and so forth Best City Police Office in the future. He urged them to continue working and sharing what they had during PSSUPT TRAIN stint as City Director.
Through his outstanding performance as City Director of GSCPO, PRO 12 awarded him the Efficiency Medal which was pinned by Mayor Antonino together with PCSUPT CAMBA, for his unrelenting efforts and sacrifices. As a sign of gratitude, the Boy Scout of the Philippines-Region XII gave him a plaque of appreciation for always being active and supportive in all their endeavors, also the personnel of GSCPO gave presents and gifts for him.
During his relinquish speech, PSSUPT TRAIN with a low mannerly voice and teary eyes was quoted saying, “I cannot be where I am now and GSCPO wouldn’t achieve such awards without those enthusiastic and committed personnel who untiringly share their effort, support and sacrifices for the betterment of the fellow generals. I commend you all for that. All of our efforts were not wasted, and that really made me happy. We all know that officers/leaders just come and go, but I want you to know that in every assignment that I was assigned to, I always leave wonderful marks and lessons for other officers to follow. I do hope that I left something for you, that was GSCPO adjudged as one of the nation’s best!”
Also, the Gensan’s vibrant young City Mayor DARLENE MAGNOLIA CUSTODIO-ANTONINO personally conveyed her message thanking the former City Director for his commitment and dedication being the city’s defender and protector. She lauded PSSUPT TRAIN for being a great leader. She told everybody also that by his attitude, they were able to get along and built a good rapport which eventually led the city towards its enormous success. The Gensan LGU has always been and will always be supportive with the plans and programs of the PNP as long as it’s for the goodness of everybody.
Lastly, PCSUPT LESTER CAMBA,OIC, PRO 12 was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the said significant event. During his inspirational speech, he commended PSSUPT TRAIN’s hardship and perseverance. He indeed showed his leadership which made his office extraordinary from others and even manage his people well which resulted to great accomplishments. Likewise, he gave his confidence and trust to PSSUPT QUIDILLA that he would do the same and even better. Additionally, he stressed out to everybody present during the occasion that they should have a goal every year and must be achieve, because though this they would be more guided to perform their tasks and duty well and better.
